I have acess to a small hand cranked winch. Im thinking of building a skinning machine with it. Has anyone else used a hand cranked winch for a skinning machine????

kyboy, i use a hand crank winch. i haven't built a frame or the vise grip clamps for it yet; lol, so right now all i've used it for is to raise the critters up to standing level so i don't have to bend so much.

i still plan on it, just haven't gotten to it yet. lol

I often use an old boat trailor, hand winch for skinning deer.
Would think you could set it up for fur.

I used a worm gear winch, turn right it goes up turn left it goes down. Nothing fancy but it does get the job done. I doubt I have $50 in the thing.

I have a skinning rig I bought some years ago at the Iowa NTA I believe. It has a crank on it and have used it for several years and works just fine. I spent the winter in kansas and used a friends set up with a winch. My what a difference.

Mine can be mounted with a winch also just never got around to doing it.Another buddy has a newer improved version of mine I saw it at the OSTA last fall. It is a cadillac model. I am going to sell my old one and get one of his this spring at a mini convention I am attending.
