If they are the 6 inch ones then be warned that a larger skunk can knock his shoulders agaist the opening and cause the door to fall on him!!! Its happened to me a few times. But the work great for smaller stinkers. Just my two cents but I only use them for a last resort..

If you can find 8 or 10 inch ones I bet they would work great, or buy the square poly ones, they work well..

I use the 6x24 tube traps that WCS sells and they work well. I've found when working with cage traps that skunks like a larger trap over a smaller trap and so I would think the 8" or 10" tube traps would work if you can find them but the 6" model does the job just fine.

Don't believe the "spray proof" hype. They can and will spray in the tube traps if you're not gentle with them.

No real trick to them. Load them up with stinky bait and if there's a skunk around, you'll catch it.

Mine are unlike the others in that the skunk can enter either end. You can set with one door down or both up. You can purchase with all solid doors, bar doors, or one of each. Bait can be hung on wire, used as a walk through , or placed in back of trap.

I have not had that reported with mine. The back door of mine that is maybe possible, but the front door cannot fall unless the trigger is hit.

We have many repeat sales on ours.

I have very good success with the 6x24 tube traps as well and have caught some huge skunks in them. Easy to set and maintain as well as being durable. Should fit easily into most "chambers". Check them early as they become toaster ovens very quickly. Like SGS said, something stinky will pull them in. I use Rosebud, Grubstake and Peaches and Cream (good stuff Bob) dry cat food or cheese curls as needed. Good for catching grinners too.
