Dr. William A. “Bill” Jones
Funeral for Dr. William A. “Bill” Jones, 66, of Nacogdoches, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with the Rev. Rita Sims, pastor of Perritte Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Jones died April 3, 2002, in Nacogdoches. Born Aug. 30, 1935, in Newburgh, N.Y., he was the son of Kenneth Jones and Charlotte Doderer. He was retired as a radiologist, and he was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a Methodist. Jones was active in the Furbearers Unlimited Association, Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Boy Scouts of America. He served on the board of directors for the National Trappers Association and was regional representative for the Safari Club International. Jones was active in the American College of Radiology, Texas Medical Association, San Augustine/ Nacogdoches Medical Society and was one of the founders of Nacogdoches Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Delores Bahr Jones of Nacogdoches; sons, Bill Jones Jr. of Adelaide, Australia, Matthew Jones of Nacogdoches and Steven Bernard Jones of Seattle, Wash.; daughter, Carolyn Walker of Nacogdoches; brother, Don Jones of Richmond, Va.; and one grandchild. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
