Wow! Those are NICE!!! Cathryn, do you tumble yours before putting them on a board? yes we do tumble them in a drummer with corncob grit. we tumble them furside out, then jerry fleshes them, then we tumble them skinside out, then i board em. it might take a little extra time( not much the way we work it) but it sure makes a world of difference in the put up,imo. i think it also takes less time to dry em. just my .02. i know for a fact theyre easier to handle than when theyre not drummed, lol.( found out the hard way)_

Youngtrapers Dad, I have a question about your mink. Why is the back fur go almost the whole length of your tails? Is that normal? If so, I think I have been cutting mine wrong. Mark the back legs are pinned to the same side of the board as the tail to make a larger inspection window. no cuts are different

MAN! Those cats are Something Else! Are those from this year or last? Just curious how much they'll bring this year or what kind of price they demanded last year? Gorgeous!

to add to marbleyes photos here are some more the good castor photo last years fur (most of it) 125 beav, 104 rats, 42 mink, and others, all the critters with tags in them in the photo were taken in 9 days wood vs. wire skunks fox and skunks the way a face should look nose and lips gone ears removed (then the grader does not feel a hard wisker or ear when he grades them), I also start fleshing behind the eye so I can take the ear cartilage out so it will not spoil
the one in the run A.K.A the PINK TRAPPER

FlatSet, I have to think, that there are 2 kinds of furs, that the graders say to their co-workers "Check out these furs!"...When they get a LOWSEY batch, and when they get a batch of furs that look like yours! NICE JOB!

2 questions...Why are they easier when they're not drummed? And where do you get corncob grit? imo, theyre easier to stretch because theyre not greasy and dont slip from my hands when im trying to pin them and they also dry faster.

MNRATMAN, I want to go trapping with you! Muksrat forest, how it should be done.
How do you keep the nose on top of the stretcher? Finishing nail through nose then eyehole, unless he has a difft method I do not know of, if ya do I would love to know.
