Do the footprints follow yours to your traps. Being in a populated area could be just someone out and about. Could be someone even just curious about your footprints and did some investigating to see what you were doing. If nothibg was disturbed your probably alright.

But if you definitely feel they are checking your traps I would move them. Like 2poor said plenty of other spots.

People get curious and fortunately most people are respectful.

They probably walked in and seen your boxes and backed out. Or they didn't see them at all. But either way I doubt that they were there for your traps otherwise in this snow it would of been real easy to follow your steps and get them.

But that don't mean people won't steal them so it's your judgement call. Us as trappers don't like to think anybody is around our trapping area but unfortunately in populated areas it happens. Who knows one of your trips out checking them you might run into this person and get a good conversation up with them and become friends.

Not all people are bad just a few.

If a person worrys about things getting stolen it will take the fun out of it.If you pull your traps from that location you wont catch anything.take your chances.I hope to catch someone stealing my traps someday, might be more fun than trapping.

To many unanswered questions for me to advise him to stay put.

Still in the road right of way ? On private land with permission ? On public land in a Park like setting ?

Good point 2poor!!!

trapperMn 2poor traps more right of ways and populated areas than I do so he definitely would be a better judge to advise you on this.

I might be nieve to thieves since I only trap my land.

Now there is someone stepping on my toes! Went to set out boxes today and found lots of people tracks and a few weasel boxes in the spots I always set. Just wondering if it's someone from t-man? First I get run over with mink and coon trappers this year now someone's after my weasels!

And racerboy I'd have to be in 2-poor's backyard to be in 2-poor country.

Maybe it is your bait. Are you using any lure?
