Anyone ever try this? A friend of mine had a giant trampoline and the Kansas wind ate it for lunch the other day. We were taking the thing apart to junk it, and there are two five gallon buckets full of these heavy springs. The springs are about 8 inches long, made of maybe 7 or 8 gauge galvanized wire and all in good shape. The springs have got to be made tuff for their intended purpose and I thought why not put a few on my coyote rigs and give em a shot. Anyone else every try this or thought about it? Thanks, Rob

Yeah Im not sure how that will work, I could cut them in half and weld a link of chain, and maybe fasten with one of those giant key chain ring fastners on each side, that would make them easy on easy off, Im hoping maybe someone else has tried this already and will share their info with us. -Rob

I dont know but I think those springs would be too stiff for use as shock springs

Baby bed/roll-a-round springs work great. Find them out on the curb on trash night. Save the angle iron for projects.

I took the springs off of a small one last year that my neighbor threw out. The springs are so strong that I cannot even flex them, and for that reason, I doubt if they would "work" for substitute shock springs.

I use the ones from the old fold out sofas. A big yote will some times straighten them out, but the price is right.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I might play around with one of these springs, take some pictures of what I can come up with and post. I guess since season closed Im kinda dragging my feet on spring projects and still in trapping mode. Again thanks for the input. - Rob

I also use a lot of storm door safety springs.

the tramp spings make excellent springs for trotline/limbline fishing.....stiff enough for good hookset, but springy enough to play the fish into tire

take me to where the blacktop ends.. then go further with me
