I trapped some problem beaver for a lady who then wanted me to trap her woodchuck. Well I caught the chuck but have a skunk today. The problem is it's in a foothold underneath her deck right by the back door. How can I take care of the problem in a scent-free way? I'm thinking of a close range shotgun blast to the backbone, that is an option. Any ideas?

No pole. I was going to make one last fall too, but didn't get to it.

He posted on trap talk that he got it with a syringe pole. No spray. Darn it.

Well hope he got the Big picture for next time .
LIVE & LEARN IS KEY whaaaaa Hooooo There isn't anybody who wouldn't have done what I did to catch the woodchucks. I didn't have a livetrap available at the time and I wouldn't know what to use for bait for the things anyway. It was an easy set with the foothold. She didn't have any cats or dogs or neighbors who did either. I explained to her what might happen if I set a foothold. She wanted the woodchucks gone no matter what. I just didn't expect a skunk there that's all. Everything worked out great with the syringe pole. She sent me a nice note yesterday saying how much she appreciated me getting rid of the skunk and "thanks for a job well done." I will probably do things different next time though. I know how disappointed you all were when it didn't coat the lady's house with a yellow mist though! LOL.
