Your replacement at the lodge wandered off.....

I just got home late last night and found out about it. Yeah I'm keeping a paper bag handy.

Still have that Griz roaming around town ?

Poor little guy, he's so misunderstood...he's just looking for a picnic basket!

Had 6 Black Bear sightings in the area in the last 2 months. Latest one was today .

Just a little one, 200 pound or so.

I bet there are plenty of "Alaskans" that are from the Lower 48 . Why,..... that means they are not true born in Alaska, Alaskans, but Lower 48 Alaskans !! laugh laugh grin grin

We Lower 48 Alaskans are a scrappy bunch!!!!

I have actually been away from New York since 1981 when I joined the Army and came to Alaska. That is when I decided i would someday come back here. 18 years later I did make it back, being an Alaskan is not always a native born thing, sometimes it just comes from the heart.

I've been here for 9 years now and have only left once to visit my parents. I may visit outside again, but I am here to stay and die.

wofwoman: I was checking out that website of yours again and I was wondering how many pelts does it take to make either a hat or a pair of those mittens ?

Thanks,

For a hat, medium to large red fox normally takes one. If there are lots of holes or rubs, I'd need two. Mittens take two good ones.
