I use wax paper, crumple it up real good so it doesn't crackle, then spread it back out. Make sure it tucks in under the jaws on both sides of the trap. It will keep it from going in under the trap too much.

Sometimes I also use the pillow filling stuff you get at hobby shops, but I like the wax paper better for sandy situations.

In NC most of the area I trap is like that. Once trapping season rolls around I dont have to worry about it much because it is wet out most of the time. The sand packs in real good then. I use poly fill under the trap pan.

I use poly-fil under the pan, just enough to fill the space so the poly-fil is not compacted. If it's dry I'll use a trappers cap so I can pack the sand as best as I can.

Hello, I to deal with sandy conditions and for some reason or another I have a hard time getting my trap to bed the way I want it. I started doing this sometimes and it seems to help sometimes. The cloths pin acts as a leg. You try you will see. Hope this helps someone. Take Care Ed

For bedding the power bedding deal be the ticket. The way sugar sand acts would be well advised to use wax paper or something along those lines to keep sand from washing under the pan.

poly-fil under the pan and i just push the trap in the sand and then sift some sand on it. make the sand thicker around the jaws so the critter will want to step into the lowspot. what part of georgia yopu comin to?
