I wanted to know how you turn a bucket into a pack basket. I know you can do it but I don't have any idea how. Pics or plans would be good if you have any.

I put a bucket in to a hikers backpack, got pockets that way. I've seen buckets with web straps rivited to them, somebody might post a picture here.

It takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile, but only 3 for a proper trigger squeeze.

this is where having an open mind and just a smidgen of ingenuity come in handy ... you say you don't have a clue, but I bet with half an ounce of thought and determination you could do it ... you no doubt have a general idea of what you would like to get out of such a creation ... bend your brain a few times and have at it ... no plans or ideas from others required ... just a few original thoughts of your own ... now go build yourself a pack basket out of a bucket! I know you can do it wink grin

P-skinner love these...improvise adapt and overcome--- get out there and getter done posts.

sometimes just a nudge in the right direction helps not only today but on down the road.

WES890 all the advise was good, explore different ways to carry the bucket on your back depending on what you got to work with, and what fits your size.
be sure to let us know what you come up with!!

You can order a basket harness from the Little Red Fur Shed in Ohio for about $7.00 and fit your bucket in it.

A seabag / duffle bag helps to get you going in the right direction you basically drop a 5 gallon bucket inside and tuck the duffle into the bucket the user Jonathon has a pretty good post about it in the general archive I think.

This Might not be exactly what your looking for but I made a couple of pouches that attach to the out side of the bucket. The traps go in the bucket and the lures and gloves have their own pockets. I still carry it by the handle.
hop this helps

Just get yourself an indoor plastic trash can, one with a lid.

Seat belts, cargo tie down straps or even rope running through some cut out slots in it will do ya well.

A trash can is better than a bucket 'cause it's square and will set on your back better.

i put a square kitty litter bucket inside a back pack. square on the bottom so it sets up right. i also drilled holes in the top and put tie wraps threw to hold various tools. traps in the bottom, tools on the top. comfortable and roomy

Look at pictures of pack baskets and see if you can figure out the harness. Looks pretty simple and easy to adapt.

Eders pack basket
LL Bean Pack basket

You can find every thing you might need from here. I have bought from them and was satisfied. No minimum order also.

This link may be of interest for those who have not seen it:

Homemade Packbasket

Subsequent to that post last May, I bought a Bucket Boss Pocket Organizer #01056 for lure, bait and a few small tools. This tote fits inside of a 5 gallon pail, has 27 pockets on the outside and 6 on the inside.

I picked it up online for $12 plus shipping. A Lowe's or Home Depot should carry this product. Views of it are shown below.
