I dont have pics but I have a 330 setter. I welded 2 4x4 1/8 inch plates on the out side about 1 inch down the sides. Putting this down at 1 inch stabelizes them. I can now set Belisle 330 mags with one hand because you can use you body weight to set it. may be a little heavier to cary in the basket but it saves alot of ware and tare on the hands. If I can figure ou haow to post pics I will somday.

Nice setter Creektrapper. Looks like it would be easy on the hands.

Got a silly question guys.

Are the setters used to compress the springs so you can set teh trap or do you use them to spread the jaws?

Lechwe,

I may not understand your question correctly but here's a shot at answering it:

The setters are for compressing the springs; once a spring is compressed, you latch it. Next, you move onto the next spring and do the same.

Once the springs are compressed and latched, the jaws open pretty easily.

In regards to “do you use them to spread the jaws?” I just can’t imagine that.

If you're thinking you can open the jaws with the springs closed, there's no way. At least not without a whole lot of power and, then, you'd be destroying the trap. Lastly, you'd be putting yourself in peril because I believe something is going to break (possibly explode) and there will be flak all over.

Hope I got your question right and this is some help to you.

S/F,

Bob

Sleepy Creek No. 4 Body Grip & Long Spring Setting Tongs

A new 24" aluminum trap setter that can be used to set body grippers up thru the #330 size and long springs up through the #5 size. The model 4 has 2 U-clips, one for the smaller long springs and one for the #4 and #5 long springs. Weighs 24 oz.

$14.95

Once I tried these, I honestly see no need for the heavyweights. These are cheap, light, and very easy on the hands.
