According to the website rubbing alcohol will not work very well. Neither will isopropyl alcohol. Everclear will work, but it's a lot more expensive than yellow Heet.

It takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile, but only 3 for a proper trigger squeeze.

I use a Trangia stove, and pack it for backup or when I want a lightweight stove when sheep hunting. www.trangia.se great little stove for all round cooking needs. It also runs on methel hydrate or alcohol. Commercial version of what you just built.

Extreme, I've seen those too on youtube, with a little imagination you can really put a nice little cook set together.I couldn't read the descriptions on the web site though, must need different glasses, the letters were all scrambled.LOL

Forgot to mention, on the Heiny pot you can wrap fiberglass drywall tape around the middle (Green part of can) for insulation so you can handle the can with hot contents, barehanded. just keep wrapping till it's about 1/8th thick.

I just purchased just the stove part not there cook sets. The best $20 I've spent. I then use three rocks for a pot support and wind protection. An ultralight alternative, that will never brake down. I love my trangia, travelled all over Australia, and Canada with it. I use a small titanium pot, being an ultralight guru, this system is top, don't even realize it's in my pack until I need it. This system works great for day or short for sheep hunts when one doesn't want to mess with a fire or there is no material to build a fire high in the alpine. I'm sure I'll be giving this stove to my grand kids.
