caught a different water critter, snapping turtle

Caught this beaver going from 1 pond to another in a small channel.

Here is another swamp critter, Cottonmouth.

this beaver caught in a dam break in a #5 Bridger

Beaver caught in another dam break

Another beaver caught in a channel set

A perfect set, the trap is set between the bank and log

another beaver caught in a crossover on a dam

I don't see a cottonmouth in that picture old man. Looks like a little water moccasin to me. Get a lot closer and take some pictures so us old folks don't hurt our eyes straining. Get close enough that he'll open his mouth so everyone can see why they call them cottonmouths....LOL Dang J trapper, I have a doctors appmt I have to go to is why I'm on this early,,, whats your excuse....LOL

KatKrazy me and my boy did a job about 3 years ago south of my home. In a little over three weeks my boy counted over 100 cottonmouths that we killed, not all we seen. I was scared to get out of the truck almost. That was the most snakes i've ever seen in one place. After 3 weeks my boy just stop counting. Seen him take his foot right off a big one with another one about two feet away just as big. I know i step on two small one in there. We even killed two with one shot from a 410, it was bad, real bad in that swamp. On top of that the place is full of wild hogs and even some gators which looked to me that they would'nt doing there job.

As Jackie says, and undoutably most people who call want to wait until the snakes, skeeters, deer flies, ticks, chiggers, and gators come out to make us earn our keep. LOL
