My trapping is typical southeastern U.S. with 80% pine thickets.I was wondering if it's o.k. to store your traps with fresh pine needles after waxing.I figure it shouldn't hurt, might help to conceal them better when bedding them. What do you think? And does anybody else do anything similar?

i never understood, that if we go through the painstaking process of de-scenting our traps, to then intentionally put an odor on them. i just store mine in a wood box or a plastic tub.
but i know some very good trappers who do put tree or plant parts in htere containers.

Mine are in a plastic bin with cedar boughs. I store the bin in my garage/shop and there are lots of smells in there. cedars are the most common tree where I trap. I will take them out a couple of weeks before I start and let them air out.
