How many cans of coleman fuel do I add to 1 quart of speed dip? I used one last year and noticed a bunch of sludge in the bottom of the bucket. I was just wondering if I should have used 2 cans. Thanks. ~Dan~

After it sit's it settles, have to stir it up good before using again. One can fuel to one quart of dip is what i mix also.

I know it goes against a bunch of peoples opinions but when I used unleaded gas I got way better results than I get now that I switched to coleman fuel. When this batch gets weak I'm going back to gas. I've used it for going on 11 years and the gas makes it coat better and smoother and not "blotchy or goopy". I don't care one way or another about the smell.

J is right it settles and should be stirred every once in awhile. I mix a gallon to a gallon+quart to a quart of dip I like a little thinner coat sometimes I'll dip let dry then dip again it dries faster and more even I believe. But yes it needs to be stirred this helps tremendously with a good even coating.........

I guess I'll use the gallon to a can of dip like I have been using. I didn't know if maybe someone used say two gallons and had a better coat come from it being thinner. Also I wanted to say that I have been using the coleman fuel for going on 8 years and haven't had a problem with it so I have never tried the gas. It dries pretty quick and I leave them set out for 2 weeks before I set them out on the line and to my knowlage there is little if any smell left on them. I have however recieved traps in the mail with dip on them that I could smell the gas on them but I used them anyways and had coon shy away. Never with the coleman fuel. Thanks for the input. ~Dan~

jack just make sure there clean before ya dip and they should do just fine. when dippin mine i stir it every 3-4 traps so it maintains a even coat. RayA

Do you just dip them in there for a second till it covers the trap?

Thank God for your blessings!

Dip them in and pull them out no soaking.

Yep, just dip them so they're covered. No need to let them sit in the dip.

Great! Thanks a bushel Kre and ADC. I have been wondering about that before I tried it. I like to know what to expect.

The way I do it is to lower the traps into the dip and wait till the bubbles stop then lift the traps out slowly so I don,t slop dip everywhere.

When I dipped my traps in speed dip before I would dip them in and pull them right back out and hang them up. I forgot about the black spots I had on my shoes and the black finger tips I had for days lol. I'm going to have to plan this out so things aren't quite as messy as before.
