I am planning on takeing some nusiance beavers and turning them into bait. I plan on cubing the meat and at some time adding a little ground castor to the mix. My question is should i taint the meat or keep it fresh? And by keeping it fresh, does that just mean you freeze it untill winter. Also i have some sodium benzoate but don't know how to use it? Any help would be appreciated.

I use fresh frozen beaver meat for bait. BIG pieces, like a half or more has worked for me.

I have nothing clever to put here.

For cats I still like to use fresher meat at my cat sets. Beaver meat is good, I like to use jack rabbits at my cat sets.

Don't think bait early... think urine, droppings and gland lure... after it gets cold, and you have thinned out the skunks, then think bait...

Everything from cottontails to jackrabbits...

We don't have beaver out in the baldies, so I have never used it... but don't discount bobcat meat as a bait.....

Good Luck and God Bless you and yours,
