i've only got em on dries a couple times but i agree its pretty neat seeing the swirl at the surface and not seeing your fly after that.

nice love em for breakfast. when i was younger and i'd go camping with my grandparents my grandpa would get up extra early so he could go catch a trout for me to have for breakfast. now that i'm older the role has been reversed though. smile

I grew up in Fl. and my granddad used to fry up fresh crappie and bass roe seved with runny fried eggs and grits. What a feast! I'm sure there are some other southern boys and girls out there that can relate. I didn't have (freshwater) trout until I was in my 20's. My wife absolutely loves the small 8-10" trout fried up, and since she was off work this morning she had breakfast in bed. I am hoping for compensation later... wink

That's a relief Jon. We were considering an intervention.

I had an unofficial 89 here yesterday in fire camp at Moose Mountain. We are popping fires like mad. Could be a good ($-wise) summer shaping up. Several big fires going already and lots of firefighters coming into Fairbanks to be shipped out to the camps.

We finally broke the 50's yesterday and it felt like the 90's. Actually starting to green up after the heavy rains.

The Meade river is breaking up. Spring has come to the Arctic. Almost 40 degrees but feels like 60.

I think those are different age class fish. Sockeye smolts will still have spots until they are ready to hit saltwater. Then they go through the smolting process and turn silver. We just released the last of our fish out here at Main Bay, where we raise sockeyes. All of the fry we are currently raising are spotted right up.

Talking about $5.00 a gallon Gasoline again by later in mid July. report by Goldman Saks!

Even if they increase the Permanent Fund payment, will that increase be enough to offset the higher costs associated with increased gas prices ?

was listening to the TV this morning and thought I heard a familiar voice, looked up to see Pete's name splashed across the screen talking about a fire. Though "He really does work in the summers " smile
