I like how jobs land. I closed out all but one job today. And the one job is a couple miles from home. Ready for the weekend! Next week we will be sniping Muskrats! Finally after 3 months of safety, meetings, site inspections. Have a great week end everyone!

Wildlife doesn't take days off and neither do I. That's one of my mottos. Booked up through the weekend with no end in sight.

Dave, not true. I'm independently wealthy and not more than 2 seconds ago I had a customer from one of the largest companies in America called me to tell me that she would not be in on Monday and could I please make it Tuesday.

After apologizing because I was an idiot, I thought how neat it was that to me every day was a work day and despite the fact that most people my age, retired years ago, I still love what I'm doing! And don't for a second, think that we're the only ones. I stopped at the Sears hardware store yesterday and the same guy I had dealt with for the last 30 years was still there. I said, "Howard, aren't you ready to retire pretty soon?" He said, "With any luck, I will retire for the fourth time in a couple of months."

Thinking that Howard was my junior, I said, "Well I'll be 70 in December and I'm still working!" This is where he nailed me; Howard said, "I'll be 70 in November!" And he's the only one in the entire store that knows where anything is!

I used to love goose hunting. You needed decoys, camouflage, and a good call if you wanted to bag a limit of smart Canadas. Now all you need is a vehicle and you can kill 'em like crazy as they're waddling across the road.

I only have a couple of customers ( Just enough to keep me out of trouble ) but I thought my Labor Day had pretty good variety. One each: deer mouse, vole, chipmunk, red squirrel, opossum, skunk, and raccoon.

We have caught more voles in those little metal livetraps which were set for chipmunks. Hope we don't have a lot of deep snow this winter. All those voles could really do a number!

..reminds me of Ron White's story about deer hunting. His buddy was bragging about all he had to do to bag a deer, and Ron says, "I hit one with a van goin' fifty-five miles an hour. You should slow those bullets down to 55 mph...the deer would jump in from of them!"
