Anyone ever had it?

Last year I had a small stroke that affected my eyes in January and after lots of test and just rest w/asperin it got better. Now this year I started drooling out of the side of my mouth and 3/4 of my tongue felt numb then my face on the right side lost muscle and eye wouldn't shut. Been on all kinds of meds for 10 days or so. Gett'n a little better. Said they believe it's Bells Palsy........Just got my Lupron shot in the tummy at CHRISTmas time and that alone can make ya kinda wierd. Gotta knock this crap off.

hey Decoy, sorry to hear about that, my father had this happen to him three months ago and it is almost cleared up. Sad for me because I kindda enjoyed saying " stop looking at me like that" to him needless to say his middle finger works just fine. Hang in there it will be just fine.

Sorry to hear about this. Sorry I did not post earlier but I just saw this. I had Bells Palsy about 25 years ago. The whole left side of my face ( nose, mouth, eye ) went numb. At the time they explained that it was a nervous disorder and had no cure or a real reason for its cause. They gave me steroid therapy for about a month and it slowly went away after a few months. My left eye still is weaker than my right when I get tired. Hope by now you are better.

Hello
Ive had it twice in my life. Both times it came on after several days of pushing cattle around in freezing and very windy weather conditions.
Like MN they could not tell me a cause. their suggested treatment was to apply warm most cloths to the area and to make sure my ears where not only covered but stuffed with something when I went into cold windy conditions. That was about 30 years ago and to this day if my face gets to cold for long I can start to feel it coming back.
The heat seemed to take away a lot of my discomfort
Hope this helps and hoe you recover soon

When you eat rabbit 7 days a week finding a hare in your soup is no big deal.

I have had it also, my granpa had it three times, the last time he had it some of the effects were with him for the rest of his life. The day i got it the night before i slept next to a open window in the late fall and the temp dropped low during a windy night. It shut down everything on the right side [note] careful eating or you will bite the crap out of your tounge. I had a hard time getting rid of it until a criopracter friend told me he could fix it, i thought yea right! he gave me a small box with two pads that you stick on the side of your face that you give youself a shock it makes the muscles contract. The more i used it the faster i recoverd. Like Rabbit Skinner said after you recover you may notice for a year or two depending on how bad you were affected that when tierd, cold, lots of laughing you may get cramps in your jaw, corner of mouth, eye may drop a bit but dont worrie what dont kill ya [and it wont] just makes you toughfer, good luck! wink wink

My Dad had it. He thought he was having a stroke at first, thank god he wasn't.
