My partner and I are trapping a couple areas this season that have tons of weasels. I've always used muskrat or rabbit for bait but was wondering about lure? Do they like skunky lure like you would use for marten? I just have a bunch of this, would be nice to use it. Also thought about using muskrat glands ground up with little glycerine and just mice.

I have good luck with a little skunky lure, but Lennons weasel lure seems to me to be the best.

I have never used lure for weasel but also haven't been trapping for ages. all I use for bait is beaver fleshings, they work great an smell for a long time!

Go for anise, you know? Like licorice? Yeah, the weasels love it.

I like some feathers with a little bit of beaver meat at the back of my box.
Seemed to work good last winter.

This year I am trying out Lennon's Weasel Lure as well as Hawbakers Weasel Lure in Boxes.

Forgot to mention, I used Cavens Just Mice a bit last year. It didn't seem to make a difference in catching them.

I don't set specifically for weasel, but I always catch some in my marten sets. Beaver meat or duck parts seems to get most of them that chance by.

X2 ... Aniseed oil is great attractant for many critters. Chop up a beaver liver into small 1/2" cubes and put in a container with a several drops of aniseed oil. Use that bait on Victor rat trap triggers in a box.
