AK I look you pin you marten leg on tail side, i do it like this too even in FHA book recommand to put on belly side, i find look better on tail side give an extention of the back, anyway they buy marten for the back. I also put my lynx back leg on belly side or the same reason they want lynx for belly, white leg pin on belly side give more lenght and better look to lynx skin. Most of time i get select or 1* in grading with legs pinned like this.

Did another quick trip out to the cabin to put the marten season to bed and bring out the WT. Some goofy weather we are having up here. Winds out of the west are new to me out there and really hit the cabin hard. Tripped all the marten sets on the way in. Still a few marten running around that I could see. Turned out to be a beautiful day for the return trip to the truck.

Pulled the WT's track out last night and got some issues with the suspension. Will be calling Delta Powersports this morning and placing an order. Them rocks were a little hard on her early this winter. Just under 8000 miles on the WT and she's held up pretty well for the abuse she's been through.

Greetings and Happy Spring Trappers. Put $600 worth of suspension parts and a new track under the 2012 WT and a ski widening kit on the Tundra and headed for the mountains. I cannot believe I've waited that long to put that kit on the Tundra. It makes it a whole new machine. Had a buddy from Minnesota come up and go for a ride-a-long and see how we trap up here. Lots of moose and caribou along the way.

Got a fire going in the cabin grabbed the water jugs and headed up to Pee Post Pass. Picked up a 95# gray male in the new post up there. Really beautiful gray with a full foot in the AK #9. This is the new post my sister and I set up this past spring. Caught and lost one in the other set.

Had to chip out a few #9's out of the overflow and dig a few out of the drifts. Pulled most of the gear this week but had to leave a little working.

Couldn't of asked for better weather to be up covering country. Missed on both posts on Iowa Ridge but that is the learning curve with new sets. next year the traps will be bedded on the other side.
Picked up another nice 88# gray male in a snare on the first kill from earlier this season. Taken 3 off that kill, 2 off Pee Post Pass and one a mile and a half upriver from the cabin. All my fur except the marten have been caught within 5 miles of the cabin. I'm running a lot of wasted miles.
Got into some new country but the ice bridges weren't cooperating

Some of that water was deeper than I was willing to mess with so we headed back out to more familiar territory. The sights were beautiful and Derek was having a tough time keeping the Tundra on it's track. Sight seeing and driving don't mix in that country. Now I don't feel so bad, it's not just me that does that.

It was nice to just cover country and share the experiences with someone new to the adventure. Ya do get pretty used to running alone though, that whole looking back thing is for the birds.

This is one of the most beautiful well furred wolves I've ever caught.
Working tonight and getting set up for the ATA Fur Auction and Fling this weekend. Hope to see some of ya out and about. Bring your checkbooks to the fling,, it's gonna be an expensive night.

Thanks JR for the ride along again, tell Derek I understand having problems keeping the sled on its track & skis. That last wolf picture is incredible and deserves to be framed and added to your photo album. Stay Safe out there and have a great time at the Fling don't let the ivory trap go to easily into the night ha ha !

First off thank you JR for taking me on a great adventure. It is some unbelievable beautiful country you have and you are correct about keeping my eyes in the trail. Lots of rubber necking off into the distance but who could blame me. Definitely a trip I will never forget. Thanks again I really needed some time away from the day to day BS. Kind of sucked coming back to cell service and emails. Good luck at the fling this weekend hope there is a great turnout.

So many people post fabulous photos here, and these wolf pictures are what I am talking about. Is there any way a T-Man calendar could be made with them, and sold as a fund raiser?

I sure don't want to be in those photos even though it would boost sales considerably !! I'm just too humble to do something like that !! Sorry
