KYBOY OP trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 4,393 East, Kentucky	Ive used a groundhog for a while but my wife comlains its not heavy enough to drive stakes and dig trap beds so.... I went to the discount tool outlet and bought a 3 pound peen backed shop hammer. Cut off a 6' pice of 1/4" x 2" flatstrap for the digger. You'll notice the end of the was forged flat and tempered. then put a good edge was put on it. Boy she can really make the sod fly with this one. Last edited by KYBOY; 12/02/07 06:41 PM. When i have to walk aways, I use a hatchet/hammer that belonged to my Dad. Its heavy enough to drive stakes and chop up the ground for beds. Of course I dont have to pound stakes into frozen ground. shane When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.

(I make one virtuall IDENTICAL to that... used some old leaf spring material.. the OG hammer was "tooo heavy" for my little body...
