Anyone have a good method for dealing with Turkey Vultures? Have a client with a big issue 40+ of them roosting on the roof, trees. DEEP referred them to me, I tried to refer to another NWCO who does bird work, but seems they do not answers the phone. Anyone know a source to get dead vulture decoys?
Thanks in advance

Based on the situation, effigies may not work especially if they do not contain any real vulture feathers and cannot be hung to move with the breeze.

Normally, the recommendation would be lasers, pyrotechnics or sound recordings, or based on location exclusion (ledge deterrent) or the scarecrow motion activated sprinklers.

Others have posted here about success with laser pointer harrasment. Hit them in the eyes at dusk/dawn.

Effigy's are hard to find. To make one take a foam hen turkey, cut a slit for wings, stick the wings or large turkey feathers in like you have seen dead birds and secure them with solar seal or something then paint them black feathers and all. For the turkey vulture I would either leave the head the way it is or paint it red.
Those motion detector scare crows if the are landing somewhere. Use a high quality hose to resist freezing, boiling from the sun or just high water pressure. If the water pressure is high you may have to add a reducer.
Get a permit to kill a few of them you probably will only need to kill one or two. Then use the dead vulture as an effigy. The permit allows you to do that and it is great if you are in an environment where you can use it.
If they are landing on and or damaging a roof shock trac where they or landing or an electric fence. Like all animals they hate electricity and have no education to help them defeat it so they pick another place to hang out.
The lasers work very well on roosts but to be the most effective someone needs to be on site. So you may have to rent or sell a laser to your customer. For that to work out for you you need to be paid for a management plan.

LATRAPPPER are you really referring NWCOS to USDA? Shame on you! USDA will take the job from them.

Have you read your quote?

While in FL. years ago they had a dead tv hanging at a small boat dock to keep them away. For the ones on the roof I would try a sprinkler with a built in motion decenter. They use them in my area to keep deer our of the flower beads.
