A while ago (year or more) someone posted info about some product, maybe a roofing product that they used to patch leaky boots... This weather is no time to spring a leak...

Anyone remember what that product was, I think they said it was available at lowes or home depot???... Other suggestions welcome... Commercial strength needed of course

Go to NAPA, Walmart, or anyplace that sells Permatex gasket sealer. Get the RED HIGH TEMP. stuff. It is great for patching holes in waders.

Red Permatex will work on either rubber or canvas. Smear it on liberally (inside and outside) and let it dry. It works...

My waders wear in between my knees where they rub together. Shoe-goo works good, and is tough stuff. I've used the red and blue automotive silicones in the past, and they work well, but I didn't care for the multi-colored spots on the camo.

Your waders have to be CLEAN and COMPLETELY DRY before you start, or it will peel up. Smear your sealer over the holes and surrounding area, and rub into the canvas well. I like to leave it a little thick over the holes, and feather it out a couple inches around the holes. I've got two pairs that need fixed myself, but haven't taken the time to do it yet.

Has anyone tried spray silicone on rubber waders? My hip waders are starting to crack, and was thinking about giving it a try before I buy a new set. I don't use them that often, but sometimes they're handy.

While I love duct tape... it will not hold for this use and these conditions...

tried it before and the glue is not flexible enough to hold... It breaks away from the repair site... Is there a different glue you use out of your glue gun?

Thanks waspshooter... I will give them a thorough cleaning... !!!

Gorilla tape works better than duct tape. And holds up alot better too. I have ripped the ankle out on a new pair of boots last yr. I patched it with gorilla tape inside and out. It's still holdin to this day!!! If ya can find them, Hot patches work great too.

hags,
Dry waders and fill leaky boot with water to find your leak. It doesn't pay to guess where it is leaking. Btw...Noone else mentioned it...just thought I would! Sometimes leaks are obvious othertimes they are tough to find. Defintitely add a covering of whatever you use to wear spots!

Anybody ever use 'shoe and boot patch reapair' by Kiwi? Great preventative measure on wear areas suchs stitching on anything. I use it on my climbing gear wearever threads rub out of stitching due to friction. Makes my gear last MUCH longer!

I put a hole in my brand new hundred dollar waders in the first week of season so I put shoo-goo on them and they work great now.

You can take the boy from the farm but you cant
take the farm from the boy.

Season totals so far.
