The growth will be determined to some degree by the method planted and the fertility of your soil. Cultivated will be much bigger than wild simulated. At the end of the first year most wild simulated roots will be one to two inches long and as big around as a pencil lead maybe slightly bigger at the top and less at the bottom.

2 or 3 inches roughly.
