I would like to try making mouse bait anyone willing to give thier recipe. Since mice are a main food for yotes and fox it makes sense to use them as bait. Opposum skinner has the secret but like many great outdoorsmen keeps it secret

The wording of your question is a bit confusing. Do you have a collection of mice already that you want to make into a canine bait, or do you want a bait recipe to catch mice with so that you can harvest them to use for making a canine bait?
Just curious.

ah man i love and prefer the big ol honkin yellow pans never really had much of a problem with them ... maybe i'm just holding my mouth the right way? lol ... i do understand what you are saying though ... i've seen them set all cockeyed and crazy ... reckon i'm just lucky huh i feel the plastic pans work good/best for blind setting (along edges, walls, travelways of any sort) ... although i do use some bait/lure ... the majority are taken without

I have good luck with the large pan traps. Espically with the rat sized ones. between my rat terriers and my wifes familys cats roaming around theres no mice left for me...

What would you use to catch that many mice? years back we had farm animals left the cover off a 55 gallon feed barrel one night it was about a third full of grain, next morning had near fifty deer mice jumping around in it man can they jump just not quite high enough, just a thought, plywood top with a hole cut in it so they can jump in but not out should do fine too.

One thing is to bend the i guess it would be called dog. bend it in the middle a lil by pushing it towards the trap.
On the rat traps i use for weasel i do that make make it so the trap only has to go down a lil to set it off and it makes the pan set a lil bit more level.
