At the top is a Luxus Model 11, a break-action switch-barrel in 7mm-08 and .30-06.

At the bottom a Dakota Model 10 Deluxe, in .280 Ackley Improved.

Anyone else have a single-shot with nice wood?

Jim

Those are absolutely beautiful James!
I have an old Mossberg 410 bolt action with a basswood stock and a Stevens Crackshot Crockpot .22 but I do not have a current photo of them.

Great looking irons James.
Incredible difference in eye relief position o your scopes versus stocks.

In the photo, the Luxus has a Swarovski Z-6 scope in 3-9x. The Luxus rifles are hand-made in a little shop in southern Ohio.

The Dakota is my baby, though. So light you wouldn't believe it.

I don't care for synthetic stocks, though they do make the most sense for bad weather.

I don't think either scope was set to shooting position at the time the photo was taken. If I recall right, they were both loose in the rings.

James those are nice. I think I would be afraid to take those out of the house. Probably a little out of my price range.

That explains it. Knowing your travels and shooting adventures I was wondering if you'd discovered a new shooting secret pertaining to the different combs on the rifles or something. Beautiful guns.

There used to be a guy here who went to my church who did very high end rifle stocks as a paying hobby. He was a successful CEO of the local company who supposedly had "retired" for a few years after the company bought him out. He was a type A personality and had to get back into the larger swing of things and now lives in the Houston area. He did (does) do beautiful work. Maybe if I wonder a lottery... laugh

I have not owned a Swarovski scope. I have had two of the EL series binoculars, and they are second to none! I'm sure the scopes are the same.

What do you like about the single shot James? Just a different gun to buy or do you perceive some quality or advantage?
