NAFA announces 100,000 coyote offered in May sale.

http://www.nafa.ca/nafa-auction-bulletin...-available-may/

Any idea how that compares to past auctions?

Canada Goose alone(there are many other fur users wanting coyote)said they need One Million strips of Coyote fur for their immediate needs this year. With 5 strips per coyote, you don't need to worry much about supply and demand affecting the price of coyote in a negative way.

Not so much the offering right now, but the QUALITY offered will have a huge impact.

At the May/June 2016 sale, NAFA offered 83,947 coyotes.

The 100,000 for the upcoming sale is just a round number estimate. I'm thinking the actual number will be higher once the catalogs are out.

The big question is - how many of those 100,000 coyotes will be the quality that Canada
Goose needs. Remember, all coyotes are not created equal. smile

I would say there is an outside chance they will be on the May sale. NAFA will be working over time to get as much stuff on that sale as possible.

You will know once lotting letters are posted in a couple of weeks.

I'm thinking that we're in for a repeat of last years spring sale, good QUALITY coyotes will do fine , but secondary qualities will suffer??!!

Even if they have 120,000 coyotes, won't hurt anything. The first sale had virtually nothing in it, very small coyote offering, and with the late late late late last receiving date on this sale, quite likely that will be about it for the year on coyotes. I don't think there will be a significant offering of coyotes on the next sale, like virtually zero heavy western.

Harvest size is about 75% of normal in Western Canada this season. Take that to the bank. We run a Nafa Depot here in the coyote lands.

I've been kinda hoping.. We only had 1 pickup and it was March 25th. My receipt hasn't been posted and I'm leaning on believing I'm kinda screwed with my total offering not being offered until july

Soooo, the Western trucks had space, and Indiana sent a semi full.

Throw in the re-runs, and that kind of tells us everything we need to know.

Way more bad yotes in Indiana than good yotes. Terry I thought you quit handling fur for NAFA.
