Looks like a big oyster gone bad....but not sure. Oysters grow on wood. It does not look like a pheasant back. There is another possibility but my memory is failing me for the name right now. Anyone else?

I'd say an old pheasant back (Dryads Saddle).

Crack a piece off and smell it. Pheasant back smells like watermellon rind.

I have read of it eaten when young and tender, but flavor and quality low for edible mushrooms.
Always be sure to verify identification of any mushrooms.
You don't get a second chance on lots of them.
