What do you consider to be "large numbers of birds"? 2. Is this a one time job or do you expect it to be on going. Many types and sizes of traps can be used to trap starlings. One design that has received many favorable comments is Starling Trap Plans- http://icwdm.org/handbook/birds/EuropeanStarlings.asp Scroll down to TRAPPING for basic plans for building a starling trap.
