I think this is comfrey, but I'm not real sure as I've never messed with it but there's a very large patch of this growing around an old homestead, any guesses what this may in fact be?


This is pretty much everywhere around here, have not been able to find much out of books I have. It varies in size, has clumped growth shallow bushy roots.

top one looks like comfrey to me..bottom one your guess is as good as mine with it being a sprout.

I believe I found the bottom one to be hooked buttercup.
