Well, I looked through all this forum's posts and didn't find the answer. It looks like the answer might be 48in the Parr book, but I'll see if some of the kind folks here might be able to answer it for me.

Newhouse, ATC 48. It is stamped CG&F, also underside of pan is stamped A30-1.

My first foray into trap collecting, any insight as to age, use, etc. would be appreciated.

Animal Trap Company of America (ATC) bought out Oneida Community's trap business in March 1925. However, they continued to use the Oneida Community name on most of their traps until the early 1930's. The #48 Newhouse was discontinued when they stopped producing traps with teeth around 1977.

The CG&F on the underside most likely stands for "Colorado Fish & Game"

The A30-1 on the underside of the pan is just a casting #.

Is it possible the CG&F might stand for California Game & Fish?

I realize the OP is in Colorado so Colorado G&F makes the most sense. But traps due tend to travel over time.

Nancy,
CG&F could stand for California, but I see that he is from Colorado.

During that era the Colorado agency was Game & Fish. I believe California was Fish & Game.

I purchased from a gentleman in SW Colorado, still trying to find out more history.

Thanks again for the input.
