I had some traps giver to me a few years ago and wanted to make sure that none off them had any collector's value to them before dying them. Any info or dates on them would be greatly appreciated.
Trap #1 is a #1 victor long spring I believe the fist thing that caught my eye on this one was the jaws on it that are thicker on the side that hist the animal's foot and thinner on the other. I also notice differences when compared to other #1 victor longs like chain, square rivet in base, jaws are different shape, longer but more skinny spring, smaller dog.. Would love to get a guess on the date of this if you have one.

#2 and #3 are two #1 under spring stop loss made by victor was wondering if one was just an older model?

#4 is a stretcher, are the pieces on the bottom that are hooked together supposed to hold the muskrat and the strether just opens? Are these still made?

The # 1 long spring is probably pre 1925, based on the figure 8 chain. Probably made by Oneida Community.

The second jump stoploss might be a B&L with the post pan and lock link chain. The guard apparatus might be a home made add on or else it was re shaped by a trapper.

I hope they aren't making that type of wire stretcher any more. They are a royal pain in the rear to deal with. Some were made by Newhouse and some were made by B&L.

I was not fond of the Blake & Lamb Sureholds. The wire guard would smack you in the hand it you failed to make sure that the dog was secure in the trigger. Victors guards swung away from the spring, so you didn't get smacked by them.

I used the hole in the end of the base to stick my spring pin in instead of letting it rest under the jaw tips. Wouldn't pop out unless the chain was pulled. I cut about half of it off.

Well I guess I'd better go back to that ditch I threw those hand mashers in 35 years ago... smile
