Great example of incredible work ethic results.

Which gauntlets do you find to be the most durable?

Love seeing catch photos, and I wish other longliners would also share

How many sets do you generally run? Single bait/lure at each set or do you use a combination?
Great job!

I guess I don't look at showing other folks picture that you have actually caught as proving anything. I do understand pictures usually stiffen those who cannot wrap their minds around such catches. I see you looked at the pictures so it is somewhat hypocritical to say what you said in my humble opinion. Oh well carry on. Enjoy. LLL

"Some things a guy cannot discuss on the internet." You are truly an old trapper, that is the way I grew up also. Looking at that beard and gray hairs, that is how my hair changed color also! Ha!

Thanks for sharing what you did, it will really help me with my grandson! You post came at the perfect time, I was telling my grandson last January he could make some good money just on high coon numbers after we caught our first ridge runner. I explained to him in the late 60's we sold thousands of muskrats at $0.75-2.50. Was good money for kids then. I reminded him coon are not much different then rats they just take a little extra effort getting the fat off.

Thank you very much for the videos on fleshing and stretching, Ill show them to my grandson.

Thank you again and be safe over there near Highway 29!

Larry

And boarding one. The video does not show me screening the tail. A lot more to profitable coon trapping than just catching them. LLL

Really looked like you were yanking on that coon. Do you pleat?

Awesome pics LL, always love looking at your pics. I know we have the population to make catches like that here in SE Iowa, I just need the knowledge, time, and discipline to get it done.
Might be an old trapper to not discuss over the internet but not too old of trapper. My grandad whose in his mid 80s used to be a big number fox and skunk trapper. When I asked how to catch fox his words of advice were "they're pretty smart" and "you just gotta keep trying for them" that was all he would say. Wouldn't throw me a bone no how.

How many days are you trapping? Full season? Month?

Thanks for the pictures.

Fantastic work ethic and catch. Most don't understand what goes into a catch like that, even myself.

You are definitely a diligiant and disciplined trapper. I appreciate the pictures and knowledge you share.

I pleat only when the coon is too big for my boards or the tail is larger than my hardware cloth. I never do it for looks. By doing the tail last you are not thinning the inspection window by stretching it at the tail. LLL

Junior,I have visited with Larry off and on over about the last 8 or 10 years. What is your point? You won't see pictures from me anymore for a good reason and reasons I will not explain. Those that know me know why. Some things are better just left unknown.Only those in my direct loop know when and what I do.I am an,"Only tell what you want told guy".
