A buddy and I went fishing for a few hours this morning, we didn't have to bad of luck . Several small bluegills put back to grow up , kept 11 crappie all in that 9 to 10 inch range . The lake we fished they don't get much over 9 to 10 and our Game and fish net them out and put in other lakes when they feel there is to many fish in it. They are nice and thick

I am sure you are aware but that is some of the best fresh water fish to eat by far. We have a lake with the same 9 to 11 inch adult crappie. Ours start getting shoulders on them and I keep a few meals when I catch them. Hope you have a few more trips like that! What did you catch them on?

I should add a bit to this story LOL went to use the anchor , picked it up by the rope and just as I got it over the edge of the boat the rope gave loose , LOL all a guy could do is laugh . I thought Nic was going to pee himself from laughing . Going to buy a new rope an anchor

You should be able to snag the rope with a large treble hook and retrieve the anchor.

Thanks RAGS! GREAT PHOTO! I LOVE EATING (and CATCHING) crappie! I went about a week ago and didn't catch one crappie!!! The yellow perch were biting though. I would have been a HAPPY CAMPER to catch what you caught! Your photo reminded me of what they look like!!! LOL

THANKS RAGS and TIGHT LINES!!!

Happy Trails and God Bless! Cary

Buy a "fishing magnet". You will get your anchor back, plus it's a load of fun to see what else lays at the bottom of the lake

I like catching crappies, but don't care for them for eating. The taste is fine, just don't like the soft, mushy texture. I much prefer bluegill. I throw all crappies back. I know, I'm weird. crazy
