Slower. I didn't kill any. Dad killed two, dog found a broke winged one. Buddies killed two. I missed three. We only jumped 16 today. One more day. You Wisconsin guys are lucky. Plenty of timber cutting making great habitat. The Feds in NC cater to the treehuggers and not the wildlife. Beautiful country up here. Seen an otter in the flambeau. Did see a rat hut somewhere. Thank goodness for a bushnell backtracker. Easy to get turned around up here. Wisconsin is a beautiful state. Dad and I have put in at least ten miles a day.

What kind of cover/ feed are you hunting? Sorry to hijack the thread- maybe need to start a Maine grouse thread...

I've always wanted to come out to Maine to try grouse hunting. It's a long haul and kinda' hard to justify since we have good grouse hunting here.

But, Maine sounds like one of those places a guy needs to explore at some point in his life. Maybe I can do it one of these years.

Two of us jumped 24 and killed 3. I should have killed 4-5 more. Headed back to NC early in morning. I must have shot 2 1/2 boxes of shells this week. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Pics coming this weekend. 4 of us jumped 192 this week and killed 25.

Scout , glad you had a good time up here !

Great that you stayed away for the Timber Wolves , but you would love catching the water wolves on them St. Croix rods !

Have safe travels back home !

Pretty much sums up bird hunting. Good shooting, poor hitting smile And good, clean FUN!

A fella needs to make more time for these endeavors. Thanks for the share!

First morning dad and I heard one drumming. Headed out in thicket to jump it. Got it up and I killed it on the second shot. Abe found it and retrieved it back!

Some fresh cat sign. You can see where the cat attempted to cover up. From the surroundings I believe the cat killed it. You can see the hair removed off the does rump. Never could find a track. Going to assume it was a good bobcat?

One of our better days.

Maggie on point.

Honest Abe backing Maggie up. After resizing some more pics I'll post a few more. Great trip.
