I have a bird feeder sitting on a sheet if plywood by the edge of my back yard. This is the second time that I have seen the ratsnake on the bird feeder this year.I assume that it must catch a bird once in a while, although I have never seen it with a bird.

Note to self- Engage brain before opening mouth (or hitting the ENTER key/SUBMIT button).

Maybe mount the feeder on a smooth pole.

I don't know if he has ever caught one but I'm pretty sure he can smell them and knows they come around often.

Hey LATrapper, Just a thought? He might also be after rodents. If rodents are hitting that bird feeder, he can smell 'em. Nice snake!
