I got some very bad news this morning. Ed's Mom called me.He passed away Aug 23 from a massive heart atack.
Ed was in good spirits up to the end.In his last words he was joking.
I know Ed is now with our Lord. Most likly run'n a trap line.
God bless Ed's famly and all his friends across this great contry who morn his loss.
What a privilege it is, to have all the fond memmories of him. We trapped many states together.Shared some of the best times friends can have on and off the trapline,in the skin'n shead, traveling across this contry and just reflecting on the day, when the work was done.

Had the pleasure of being in his presence a number of times. Always a learning experience. Ed was always fiddling with something, thinking outside the box. Gave me a couple ounces of lure once that smelled so good I wanted to taste it. Fermented cantaloupe melon . . . fox and coyotes had the same reaction I did.

RIP Ed. See you on the other side, if I make it.

Aww man! This is terrible news. I met and spoke at length with him a few years back at a convention. An outstanding trapper and nice guy. I bought a bottle of his liquid beaver lure and he guaranteed it. Just the other day I was wishing I had another bottle of that stuff.

May God bless and comfort his family and close friends. RIP you otter killer!

We have traveled many miles, we have laughed more than we cried. Solved most of the worlds political problems and searched for the right answer. You have taught me many things with your eyes seeing it different than mine. We have Hunted,Trapped and Fished and even once Ran from a Big Bear that went (Moo) that moment I will share. My friend you taught me one last lesson in life at the end, when before I could not understand. I will never forget our time together and will wait to see you again in heaven. I'm pretty sure all that will be left is possums.

Thankful to of known him and glad he MADE ME try out his liquid beaver lure, top notch stuff for summer beaver. Im in shock over this, had no clue he was going to go this fast. And yep, by time rest of us get there won't be anything left but possum's glaring at us from the other side of the pearly gates!

My first memory of Ed was many years ago when he posted with pictures, the step by step process of skinning and boarding a mouse.
He was hysterical. I learned so much from his posts here and he was always helping others learn.
When I finally had the chance to meet him in person it was like we had been friends for a long time. He always had a smile and his insight and knowledge of animals and trapping was humbly passed on.
Pskinny, we are going to miss you old friend. You have left your mark in this world and on a lot of people and we are the better for it.

This one still has me rattled. After he left here he was very active on a facebook for a couple years then faded away from there as well. I was proud to call him a friend. I missed his posts here and on facebook but always figured I would run into him again someday at a convention. Guess I won't.

I too recall Ed the same way as Angela does .

It was a hoot years ago to enjoy the banter among the ones who told stories and joked as that group did. He seemed way too young to endure this fate.

RIP, PSkinny.....

Newt I am sorry to hear about Ed.

Remember the last time you and I trapped together Ed was with us. I met you and Ed in the Wal Mart parking lot and I got out wearing a brand spanking new green Wrangler shirt with pearl snaps that I had just bought from Tractor Supply. I remember scaring the crap out of both of you as you thought I was the game warden when I drove up. You guys picked on me as being the cleanest best dressed trapper you have ever trapped with that day.

Newt you and I have not talked in a very long time. I should have reached out to you long ago and for that I am sorry I have not been the friend I should have been. I let life and two family illnesses and deaths get in the way and for that I am sorry. I hope to see you again soon. I was planning on going to the NC convention this year just to see you but know I understand you will not be here this year. Take care buddy. See you soon. Mike

Sorry for the loss of a good friend Newt. I'll keep all his family and friends in prayer.
