https://www.wildlifecontrolsupplies.com/animal/WCSBFS6.html Well 2 traps I posted a link to the trap so I guess I've seen one. And yes I've actually played around with one. And I'm sticking to my foot holds. When you make a catch with a foot hold you just re set. With one of those foot snare contraptions you have to re build It or put In new one. I used those collraums (sp) 20 years ago and yes I caught coyotes In them but they won't out produce a foot hold. And I feel the same about these foot snares. I guess the old dog new trick thing applies here. LOL

They work just as well if not better then a foothold trap. They hold very well so pullouts are non-existent with coyote Fox and bobcat. For remake you detach snare from anchor with the quick connect. Place new snare on the anchor and set foot snare. Bed trap and place cable on the correct way. Cover trap, Add what you want. Backing, bait, lure, urine, etc.

2traps the long link is to attach to a drag. I cut the link off because if you catch a yote with trap attached to the drag the trap can get bent out of shape. Newt and Darcy were going to make a video using this tool . Do you still anchor snare solid? Or do you have snare and trap connected to drag? If so I can see.the jaws getting bent fairly easy. That's beauty of the device bc itd s the snare that holds the animal not the trap. So when a catch is made the belisle flys off after snare clinches down on the leg/foot. Wish i had half dozen stainless belisle to try out. But they are high dollar. To expensive for fur trapping

I watched the horribly made video (no offense to Frenchy or wherever he was from) but don't understand what closes the snare. basically when the trap closes it releases the snare and as the animal struggles it tightens the snare then the trap eventually pops off from the fight

Icaught skunk one time that never got the belisle off his leg.
Red when you use the belisle do you anchor your snare under the trap or do try to strech snare out and anchor away from trap bed. This is how I do it. I figured the sooner the snare closed the better. But the belisle may hang on longer then I expect. I plan to use the.half dozen I have again this year. Been trying to get hog snared using the six inch belisle. Just haven't connected with one yet. Wish we could legally use the eight inch version in Virginia.

But like you said deer are trouble. This seems to be 1 reason some don't use foot snares. It's part of the reason I am thinking about going with a slightly weaker BAD...one that hopefully would hold most yotes but release most deer.

Now that's a good idea. I have some of them gregerson locks but they are 3/32 size. For live marketing or trapping were domestics are high. This tool really shines. They are the.most humane trapping device I know of that holds the animal by the foot or leg. I'm talking about the standard belisle foot snare not the selective. But i would like to try the selective out. I plan to buy some stainless belisle to have. Haven't seen price on the selective yet.

Where do you buy these gregerson's? I'm not familiar with them. How about a link, maybe a photo?

Ya until you get one of those 300Lb 12 point bucks hung up. I'm sure WI regs include some type of BAD.
