The highest point in Ohio is in the Bellfontaine Ridge, which my farm is on the edge of and is only 1550 feet above sea level.

The Appalachians, in Ohio are actually considerably lower, though they look taller, because of the surrounding land.

The Bellfontaine Ridge splits the storms coming in from the West and makes most of them go around my farm on both sides. The storms merge back together again, about 6 miles out. The ridge also makes it to dark to shoot before the end of legal shooting time, by blocking the setting sun.

Thats a fact....

The incredible diverse spectrum of fall colours in the east is astounding in beauty. I have really wished that all those spectrum hues were an indigenous part of the west....but- they aren't....in such intensity...passion....lovely shock to the eyes.....I will note, that in every town I have seen in the west .....north Idaho, Montana......all those huge glorious trees planted years ago along the streets all show that breathless color the very same as they do in the east.

We can all be in sublime smiles in enjoying all these astounding colours , from east to west....south to north....

Life lived.....tis a mighty thing !!
