Going West in a couple of weeks. Thinking of trying bird hunting the National grassland. Anyone have thoughts or expierence with That area?

SD Grasslands? I drive through the FT Pierre grasslands when going to Pierre and back hauling inmates. Several kinds of game birds in there Pheasants, Prairie Chickens, Sharptails and Hungarian Partridge.

LD, thanks for the reply. I have property in ND but brood counts are down 60% there. I spend about a month in ND each fall.just looking for a change of scenery

Get a BLM map that shows the lands you can hunt it's mixed in here and there but most places it says "please close the gate" BLM signs and your good to go get a walk in map free from GFP and you will find more land then you would want to walk in a day. You can road hunt also just don't shoot around houses and livestock.
