I'm going to be getting some JCCONNER tracker pivot drags to try this year. I can't decide on the tracker plus or the tracker pro? Any pros and cons? Are the pivot drags better then the fixed drags? Anybody use these drags. I'm thinking on either getting 2lb tracker plus, or the 1.5lb tracker pro. Will be used for coyotes, fox, and bobcat.

I use the pro and the plus. Both work well. I think I like the pro better if I bury it, but other than that can't tell a big difference.

Do they both work very well with hanging up quickly? Does one he clogged easier then the other. I may just get some of both. They both look like they would perform very well. Just feels right to have Jake traps with tracker drag behind it. Expensive setup. But they will last several lifetimes if taken care of.

I have some of the old style (one end turned up, one turned down) in 2 lb. version.

work very well in woods. for my use/area, they are plenty good enough.

There very good, the problem that I have found with others is they hang up, right at the set. He does a very good job with all of his products. His lures work very good too.

The key is having 10 feet or heavy chain or more

Chain snags alot of stuff and adds weight

Both styles work very well, I think I like the pro better, but not sure why. I use a Double swivel off the drag, 10 to 12 foot of chain a JC Connor shock spring and then a trap. Cats won't pull it far at all. Where I set, Coyotes won't go 20 yards.
Not sure if the shock spring really helps but I had one drag freeze to the ground and a coyote ran from one side to the other to the end of the chain and popped out. I guess he ran about 15 feet wide open and his weight propelled him out. If you use a shorter chain you better have a good dog. Kind of like walking a dog though the woods on a 2 foot lead or a twenty foot lead. With a twenty foot lead you both will be tangled up before you get started.

Great tips guys. I run eight foot number three machine chain. I will have swivel at drag, eight foot chain, then the trap chain setup. These will be going on Jake traps.

Great drags! Have used them ALL. Personally, I like the brand new drags he came out with last year...built right like all of JC 's stuff.
