What are some good steel or composite toe boots for working on concrete, ten plus hours day, six days a week? Need something lightweight and comfortable and affordable. Thanks for any help 2traps.

First go with composit toe, lighter weight doesn't conduct the cold etc. try some of the hiking type boots those seem to be good for long hours on your feet for a reasonable price. Otherwise if you want to spend big money the US made red wings are pretty comfy and last for years but cost around $300.

I have been wearing Red Wings since 1993. I buy a pair a year and have bought the 2233 model every time. Hummm.... I was just going to say anything but redwings. The most uncomfortable boot I ever owned in my life bar none. Then again I have flat feet so maybe it's me.

I wear mine probably 360 days a year, typically 12-16 hours a day. Wife won't let me wear'em to church!!

I wear boots on concrete and steel grating for work. The best thing I have found with any boot is a good aftermarket gel insert. Also, the lighter and spongier the sole, the better. Composite for sure (lighter) it also helps me because I have to pass through metal detectors daily.

Red Wing here. They are pricey but are worth the money.

I've been wearing the timberland pro 6" pit bosses for probably 15 years. Two pair a year. On concrete. Normally around $100-115.

I've got flat feet and I recommend the red wing king toe boot, I beat em up good in my line of work and I go thru a pair every year but worth it

Carolina boots, they last ! X2 and comfortable..been wearing Carolina boots for a bout 15 years now...previous job I would stand at a milling machine 10 hours a day, now I'm putting 12 hours in about twice a week plus weekends, my company pays for them, I've been wearing the same pair going on 3 years and have a few new pairs still in the box.... Get the USA made version, they are about 250.00 I believe boot number is 309

I went through 3 sets of boots on concrete and metal grating before I finally wised up and realized I didn't really need a boot. I tried Timberland Pro composite low top breathable NON-waterproof sneakers. They were fantastic and I turned a few co-workers onto them. One guy said "They are like walking on baby seals."
Thorogoods were horrible for me. Total agony working in those boots.
Nowadays it just don't pay to be a good 'ol boy.

Keen for me, although I have worn Carolina's that were exceptional. I like a low boot myself.

The best I have ever found are Georgia Boots. The composite toe and insulated. I work mostly outside for the power company. No issues. Wear them every day for work and get two to three years out of a pair before the soles start to get where out. Never had any upper issues or split soles. On my fourth pair. Tried all the rest and never had one really comfortable for me until I started using Georgia. I work with some guys who swear by Redwing as well.

I do road construction, been running timberland great boot. But my company didn’t offer them this year. I went with Georgia. I do know in my line of work, glued soles don’t hold up.

Steel toes are notorious for rubbing on your toes some wear and I can't stand that. My little pigs need room!

Love wearing Keen footwear. Currently on my third pair of their steel toed Detroit models that weigh in at 1#8oz per boot. Order online from Zappos, any issues send back on their $. Dave
Forever in debt to my Father who introduced me to trapping. May I be half the man he was.

If you are in need of a wide toe box, I haven't found any boot better than wolverine. Again, my issue is I need a wide toe box. Steel cap does not bite in on the outside of my toes. Last me about two years with heavy weekend use. Tried most all of them except the super expensive loggers. I would vote for these right here. I don't wear the steel to model but have had 2 pair of the regular moc toe with the wedge sole and they are great. First pair lasted 5 years and I flooded them twice. Second pair is on year 3. They are very comfortable and the sole wears like iron. I clean and oil mine with a mink oil about once a month.

I have work in a plant environment roughly 10 acres under roof with 25 more outside. Serving the whole plant I typically walk it multiple times a day for 12 hour shifts. My company pays for boots and every two years and over the last 20 years the only boot I have worn that did not require any insole replacement prior to the 2 years was my current set of Georgia’s. They were spendy but over 3 years in they are just now getting to the point of needing insoles.
