How deep underground do moles go in the winter in the Northern regions? We know they go below the frost line. I know if there is a lot of snow on the ground they will not do real deep. I have this question ask of me all the time.

Don't think there is a set depth in inches. Just what you said, below the frost line.

God created the mole with low red blood cell count so they could survive extended periods with low oxygen levels. There is a maze of tunnel networks. it got to a 44 inch frost here 3 years back...the moles were below that...they just follow their food source...the earthworms

A few years ago water lines going into the houses 5 feet down were freezing. The worms and moles were below that. I've read they will go down 10 feet. Never dug down more than 9 inches to find a tunnel.
