I tried a couple of promising formulas in the field this past year, but the experts, the canines, said they didn't care that much for it. So, this year I'm offering Dave Edward's best selling lure as the promotional lure. I formulated his Cherry Red from the formula in one of his journals. With any canine lure order I receive, I will enclose a free one ounce bottle of Cherry Red. This includes Backbreaker, since it is used for canines, and it will also include an order with Bait Solution in it.

Reckon I ordered the 2 jars of Skunky Backbreaker a week or two too early! LOL Good luck with the promo Paul! The problem was that I couldn't offer it until it was ready. Was there much odor to the box of skunky Backbreaker? I pack it in dirt hoping it will contain the odor. Most times it does a pretty good job, but occasionally a box will have an odor to it.

I have a drop or two of YOUR Cherry Red from 2012 or 2013 on this deal. That caught a fox nearly every hole I put it on. Wish you would run that as a regular. Nah, that wasn't my Cherry Red. It was the same Cherry Red from Dave Edwards that I'm doing this time. I ran this same promotional deal back then.

I can’t speak for insanelupus but the skunky Backbreaker I recently received had absolutely no odor to the package. I think I might need to order some more so I can get the promotional lure.

Can a larger jar of the promotion lure be purchased? Sorry, but I need to keep the promotion as is. Its a very good lure, and folks would soon run me out of it if I offered special purchases of larger quantities. If I made another batch now, it wouldn't be ready until after trapping season.

I thought it smelled fine, but the post office labeled it "oderous" and the wife said she could smell it.
I used the dirt as backing and call lure after I opened it!

I write ODOROUS on the box to let the post office folks know that it may stink. They might be less likely to think something is broken or rotting inside. Let me know how the dirt as backing works out. I hadn't thought of that.

Submitted my order! I’m looking forward to trying the Cherry Red lure.
Along with the canine select and all call lures!

Paul, the skunk dirt worked fine. I had set the pan back a little cause of a few shy coyotes and missed him, but the set was worked.
Good thing I had a turd set doctored with a little of your Coyote #1 nearby. 27.5 lb. Male, biggest this season. I love it when a plan comes together!

Lol, I was thinking more of the promotional aspect: When you order your Skunky Backbreaker you will receive a free bag of Skunk Dirt. Store the new lure in it until time for use and when ready your free batch of Skunk Dirt is ready for use as a call lure and backing. Order now, operators are standing by!

Paul Received my Skunky Backbreaker in the mail. The scent was strong even though it was wrapped in dirt. I knew what it was when I opened the mailbox. I am sure my mail lady will have a comment. LOL

Paul, the Skunk Dirt connected today. The dirt was scattered to the four winds, but I relured with Skunky Backbreaker. Could the some do and done don't smell issue be residual odor on the hands wrapping the dirt?

Could the some do and done don't smell issue be residual odor on the hands wrapping the dirt? Congrats! I'm thinking the some do and some don't is more than likely attributable to the moisture content of the dirt. When the dirt has the right amount of moisture, it compacts better. Just a theory.

Could be. My last urine order I had to vacuum pack and store in Ziplocs until use, but it really cut down the odor.
The set this last yote was caught in had been worked the night I caught the big male Saturday. Last year I had a female near here who would check my sets out, mark near by, but never would commit the last few inches. So I moved the pan back this year quite a bit on this set. I may have to start bedding two traps.
Saturday, whatever worked that dirt hole committed and threw dirt all over the pan and I cleaned up the set some. My guess is these two were associated somehow, but that she's the one last year that kept sneaking in on my sets and leaving. She won't try that trick anymore!
It was interesting, she was 22.4 lbs. The female was caught 30 ft from where the male was caught. Both had bite marks on them, but hers were scabbing over. She had a litter of pups this year, and had two K9 teeth broke off near the gum line, with lots of yellowing and tarter build up. It took half an hour at least to get all the cuckle burrs out of her. Very matted but the hide improved dramatically when they were removed.
I'll be curious to see what I pick up on this property now that she is gone. The male was 27.5 lbs and a female from a few weeks ago was 26 lbs on this property. None had much fat on them and the first two had good clean teeth.
I'm hoping a few of her youngsters might come through carelessly.
But on the next order, the Skunk Dirt will certainly be used as backing again. Thanks!

My sister sent in an order last week, but it must have gotten lost in the mail. If you'll just send me her free bottle of lure, I'll forward it on and then you won't have to send the free lure when her order arrives. Thanks in advance.
Hal I don't recall sending any to a woman. Does she have a man's name?

Hal I don't recall sending any to a woman. Does she have a man's name? You're never gonna make much of a trapper if you can read any better than that. I said her order got lost in the mail, you didn't get it. In fact, she put on the bottom of the order blank "If this order gets lost in the mail, just send my free lure to Hal" -- signed Francis.

My order was waiting for me as well Paul. The Klondike Call Lure was just a little open so it was the first thing I noticed!! Thanks again for the Cherry Red.

Just an update on the Cherry Red. I caught 3 Reds in the same set in 6 days. That's a first for me. Thanks again Mr. Dobbins. Any chance of this becoming a permanent item in your catalog? No, I can't do that. It was a Dave Edward's lure. He had the Buffalo Creek line of lures. After he died, his daughter said that he told her that he wanted Buffalo Creek to die when he did. So, I may make a batch of one of his lures once in awhile for a promotional deal, but I won't market any of them.

I got my order today, and am excited to give it a try tomorrow. Out of curiosity how are y'all using the cherry red with so much success. Just a couple drops on some wool in a dirt hole or cubby?

I was taught that curiosity lures do best in a hole. They should be applied to something in the hole, and not applied to the dirt in the hole.

Ok, thanks, I'll throw out a couple new sets today, and report back with any success.

I placed an order yesterday for a few lures and some bait solution. Do you ship a free sample to all people placing orders or is it just TM members? The reason for my question is, I just placed the order and did not see anything for a free sample lure when checking out.
Thanks

I had awesome success with the Dobbins beaver meat bait in the hole, with a rock as my backing and the Cherry Red just under the lip of the rock. Caught 3 reds and had one more pull out in a weeks time. I have never had Reds show that much attention to my sets.

I realize we are now in 2018 but was wondering if you are out of the promotion yet? I have five or six bottles of it left. Awesome...I'll be putting in for a pint of Backbreaker among others.
