I bought an older gentleman’s traps and supplies and in one box there is a brand of trap that I’ve never heard of, Butera Mfg. Ind. of Willoughby, Ohio.

The pan says Professional BMI 1.750.

Can anyone give me any information on this company?

I’d post pics but my phone won’t let me. I could email or text them to someone if they want to post them.

BMI traps are still in production. They make mid-size coil spring traps and body grip traps.

I'm rather surprised that you've never heard of them. The company is some times discussed on this forum.

Bottom line - American made user traps. No collector value, yet.

Thanks Wismiss. I’ve heard of BMI but never the Butera part of it.

I figured they weren’t a collector but I will hang one on the wall anyway.

Looks like I just picked up another dozen user rat traps.

I bought 2 doz. back in the late 80's as the 1.75 Wolfer is not made anymore. the coil springs are under the levers like the Gibbs/Triumphs of old. Send us a picture to be sure but they are not as common as the newer BMI with the springs on the pins commonly made today.---your Favorite Top Lot Trapper
