#4 and #44 Newhouse traps are the same, the #44 just has a heavy chain attached to the base rather than on the spring. Some times the chain has a ring and sometimes it does not.

Chain set up. See my response on your other post.

There are 4 Newhouse traps that are basically the same size. # 4, # 14, # 48, # 44.

Differences are in the pan stamping, the jaws and the chain set up.

Great, thanks for reply help. One of the 44 has US and one has a K on pan as well. Ideas on K ?

My guess is that the K is a trappers mark. Maybe an initial of the previous owner.

The US stamp, if original, adds value to that trap.
