... but it caught up with me on the line today.
I was riding the wheeler running my line and adding a few sets sets to it when...blurp... "oh my," I thought! "Where did that come from?"
Oh well I can hold it. Then I went to pull my driving rod for my earth anchor. WHOA! We almost had a security breach! I get the rod out of the ground and continue checking some other traps. All seems well. I think, I will be fine now. See I knew it would be fine. Heck I think I'll ride way over there and scout for some sign. Maybe even put in a set or two.
Then it hits! I can see the amber light in the corner of my eye flashing. SYSTEM FAILURE!! SYSTEM FAILURE!!
There is no time to wait. I have to make it to some prairie grass and now. Why prairie grass you ask? You obviously have never tried to wipe your back side with sage brush.
I find some grass but no help was given with the bumpy ride to to. The amber light in the corner of my eye is now flashing red. From past history I know the clock is ticking, and ticking FAST. I roll of the wheeler and start stripping my coat. Then my vest. Then my bib overalls. CRAP! my right boot is hung up! For an instant I think, "leave it the coveralls." But again history has taught me better. No they have to come off. Stop the panic, take a breath and get the coveralls free of the blast area. I do just that.
Every thing is now clear. I bend over and BOOM! THERE SHE BLOWS!!! Mud is slung. Slung well and far! The crisis has now been averted.
I sighed in relief and then looked around. Hmm, this grass will not do. But that grass over there looks nice and soft.
