The man's name is Junebug Newsom from Gretchen Kentucky.

They cut the buck out of a tree 10' from the cabin they were sleeping at .
Think the cabin was around Cowan Ky.

All he has left is this picture, alert authority's if seen .
Has a few distinct characteristics.

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was in college many years ago. I was staying in a dorm at the time and had shot a trophy buck and hung it about 15 ft. or so up in a tree behind our room since it was very late in the day. In the morning when I went to take it to a processor I had found some one had cut the deer's head off and left the body hanging in the tree. Largest deer I have ever shot to this day. That was in West Virginia back in 1969.

Not a good feeling at the time. I shouldn't have been too surprised for that to happen in that area.

I knew an older man and his wife who owned some land in northern MN. They were getting up in age and knew they didn't have too many years left of hunting. They both shot nice bucks opening morning. The best opening ever, they were really excited. The deer were tagged and hung next to their cabin. They decided to go to town for breakfast, a nap at the cabin, then head home.

When they got back to the cabin someone had cut the tags off and taken the deer. They sold the land and gave up deer hunting after that.

Tears welled up in Roman's eyes as he told me the story. It was hard watching that old man tell the story.

Was on a deer sight I visit.
I Googled it when I seen it also .
They didnt steal a small deer and a 4 wheeler the had the key in it .
I think the guy stated that he posted it on Facebook and that may be how someone knew it was there .
Sucks no matter what .

My guess would be that the carcass is in a ditch or creek somewhere with the skull plate and antlers missing.

Lot of worthless people out there anymore.

We had a deer theft some years ago. It was oldest son's first buck ever and they cut it down from a tree at the cabin during the night.

Thats ok hippie, thats what Lucy's job is-to bark at them grin

I have motion sensor lights in several different areas of my driveway and entrances to my cabin. Game cameras in a couple subtle areas that catch good night shots.

Nothing a trespasser dislikes more, than lights startling them from pitch dark.

Anyone snooping uninvited within the boundary of personal space deserves what they get.

Its too bad this is a subject of concern, but motion lights and cams go a long way in self protection in any case.

Man that stinks.
My dad had one stolen from him while hunting. He shot it but it kept going (the only time he's ever had to look for one) so he was tracking it and heard someone shot. He finally got to the end of the blood trail (boarder of another rez) and there's a young teen with his dad. My dad clearly exhausted says to them thank you for helping me out I shot it and been tracking it for awhile now and wiLL be happy to give you some meat. The other dad was glad to accept the offer but the boy was not. My dad showed him the blood trail and offered to take them on the rez to show where he shot it the boy refused. Even his dad told the boy it's the right thing to do. This went on for a bit my dad was mad and told the boy to keep it.
