It's back and I heard rumors that they actually find the money pit and treasure this time.
We haven't heard from Patrice (I think it was her) doing her commentator impressions either.
"A gold coin from the 1600s? Could this be a clue to the location of the money pit?"

For all the coins have been service finds, that island could have been a rest stop for slave ships back in the day. The stuff they have been digging up is just what's left over from previous explorations. Honestly, back in the 1600's why would you bury a treasure a few hundred feet down on a un charted island? Like you if you intended to every come back for it, you would have been better off hiding it under a rock.

I'm surprised there are no cows on the island because they are milking the heck out of this show! I do enjoy it though, but find something good already!!

I suspect the coins found were dropped by someone working for the show.

Burying treasure or anything else, with all those precautions, like they seem to believe happened, would be an act of insanity.

Could it be the coins found were salted there by crew members, not pirates from the 1700s?

Love the show like the elder Lagina I've been interested since I read about it as a kid but, unlike him, I don't have a wealthy little brother.

I have no idea what's there but I do have a little "conspiracy" theory. Remember when they found the Spanish coin in the swamp? Marty was all set to pull stakes right before that happened. I think big brother planted it to keep the gravy train rolling. There's two scenes later on (one in the "war room" and one in the truck) when they discuss the coin. BOTH times big brother can't look little brother in the eye.

That being said I would be thrilled if they finally figure out the mystery. How likely is it that there would be a naturally occurring void that deep in the ground? I hope they find DB Cooper dressed up as Bigfoot guarding the Holy Grail.

They keep talking about the money pit. From what I understand, it's about 170 feet underground. If that's so, who dug a hole that deep and with what? How did they fill it in? Why bury something that deep? Then there's the extensive water booby traps. How did that manage to create those. An awful lot of questions that don't make sense.

My wife thinks I'm nuts for watching, but I've never missed a show since the series started.

I never watch the show and have no idea what u guys are talking about but I feel really confident that no pirates dug a 170 feet deep hole to bury treasure

Anyone ever think the "money pit" was just an old well were they tried to "desalt" sea water?

If you bury something 170 feet, think about how far away you gotta take that first shovel full .

Well they built the pyramids. Mostly with slave labor. There's no reason why they couldn't have built the entire contraption with slave labor. You should see the mines they built in spain 2000 years ago. Makes a 170-foot pit look like a posthole. They literally dug away an entire mountain.

Don't forget about the stone with the encryption on it that was found on the wooden planks. That's for real.

I have a hard time watching the show because it is so over-sensationalized and they never seem to get anywhere, but the potential for a real treasure there is definitely possible.

Agree on all points. Except mines are dug to find treasure...not hide it.

Watched it once or twice while staying in a hotel. While it really is a show about nothing, and is completely absurd........ I wold probably still watch it if we had TV. Just like Mountain Men and the rest!
